Session 4: Deployment Modalities & Modularization

6 November 2024

16:00 – 17:30

Session Description:

The SCT concept and the need for EMTs to adapt to different deployment models (embedded, coupled and self-sustained) obliges the EMT initiative to develop a framework for analysing the key elements for effective and agile surge capacity deployment tailored to the needs of emergency response and the capabilities of existing facilities. EMTS must also be prepared to respond appropriately to the needs of the health emergency, through flexible, advanced, standardised and modular configurations that are able to be more effective in meeting the challenges that occur during a health response. This is precisely what modularisation is all about. This session will present real experiences of EMTs/SCTs deployments in different modes, emergencies and contexts to provide insight into the challenges and learnings that should continue to guide future responses and modularization of EMT deployments.

The work being done to define the analysis framework with three deployment modalities, embedded, coupled and self-sustained according to the needs of the health response will be also presented.
